The Freshman CSA uses a traditional CSA share model.

Your commitment at the beginning of the season allows nearly new farmers to cover early season purchases before produce is available. In turn, we commit to providing you with sustainably grown vegetables throughout the season.

CSA members share the risks with farmers. You’ll receive produce and have the option to pick up extras when we experience bounty but when a crop fails, we won’t be able to share it with you. We operate as a collaborative model and grow a variety of produce to be as resilient as we know how.

PICKUP LOGISTICS

We have very limited additional assistance available for those without access to a vehicle or transit. This must be arranged in advance.

Our CSA offers 15 nonconsecutive weeks of vegetables. There is no CSA pickup the weeks of June 24 (week of Pride and Independence Day) and September 2nd (week of Labor Day). This enables you and us to enjoy the holidays, travel, and rest.

Makeup week is available to customers who notified us at least 2 days in advance that they would miss that week.

MISSING A PICKUP & MAKE-UP WEEK

If you know you will not be able to pick up your CSA, please either

  • Arrange for a friend or family member to pick up and enjoy your CSA that week

  • Notify us at least 2 days in advance to be eligible for our ONE makeup week at the end of the season (week of October 7th).

Shares that are not picked up during the time window will be donated.

PAYMENT

We rely on your payment to purchase necessary farm inputs and grow produce, so we are unable to offer refunds. You are welcome to cancel your membership at any time or transfer it to a friend or neighbor if you are no longer able to receive your share.

FARM PICKUP POLICY

We’d love for you to pick up your share at the farm. Please know that we share our farm infrastructure with multiple farms and farmers, so please take care to follow driving and parking guidelines. Please do not venture into the fields without permission or bring unleashed animals with you.

We’d love to show you around the farms! Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll find a time that works for all.

CSA NEWSLETTER

Each week, you’ll receive an email from either Goblin or Artemis Farm with the expected produce, recipes, preservation tips, farm updates, and reminders letting you get to know all your farmers. We welcome feedback and would love to hear what additional information would be helpful.
